Good morning Monday

Postby Ally » 23 Aug 2021, 05:55

Good morning.

I don't think I've mentioned the weather for a while but in the 7 weeks I've been here we've had one day of rain. It's been really nice.

Don got home ok yesterday and walked into heat of 38 degrees.

No beginning of clearing the house yet until tomorrow as at noon we have the estate agents coming round to take photos of the house as it'll be going on the market shortly so it has to look pristine.

After that I'll be composing a letter of resignation to my work.
After much thought I've decided not to return in September.
I'm due to be back four weeks tomorrow and there's no way that's going to happen. My head can't cope with the thought of teaching at all.

I'm meeting an old school friend at 5pm for a drink then on to have dinner.

Have a good day.

Good morning Ally & Saundra and any body else who is up.

Ally, Take your time. I am still sorting through my wife's things after six months. And you have the house to sell.
Got the new car on Saturday. I love it so easy to drive not having to change gear.
Going looking for vinyl floor tiles today for the kitchen.
The sun is coming out so it may get warm
Have a good day everybody

Buon giorno! Good morning from Lake Garda, where the weather has broken, today looks like being mostly cloudy and windy. However, it is still nicely warm with a temperature at the moment (9.25) of 22 degrees. It has been extremely hot our first two days. All went well with our travelling on Saturday, we had our own driver from Verona which felt rather posh :D His name was Michele, he had to bring us by the scenic route as traffic was so heavy on the motorway and it was a very pleasant and relaxing 2 hours. The hotel is lovely, very comfortable and the food is great. Today we are heading off for a good walk, Edward is busy working it out. Really enjoying just switching my brain off and enjoying a complete change.

Morning everybody.

Warm and muggy here at 18 °C and humidity of 83% and that looks to be the case for the next few days. It was a horrible and sleepless night with humidity of 92%. I will just take the day as it comes.

Ally I'm with Kaz on this. It is a shame about the job but completely understandable.

Osc, I love the Garda area. Some great campsites round there, and some wonderful walks.

Saundra and Kaz, enjoy whatever it is you get to do.

Same for everyone else.

Morning all, it’s gone cloudy and dull after a sunny start. There’s a bit of rain in the air now too which is typical seeing as I’ve just stripped the beds and started the washing.

Bill’s had his walk, he was very happy to see that one of his favourite paths had reopened. We can only use it in Summer as it gets too waterlogged and muddy* the rest of the year and it’s a really steep slope. The area of the common it’s in has been closed off for the last 10 days for drainage work but we noticed that the barriers had been removed since last week.

I’ve been intending to check in but I feel like I’m working my way through a never ending to-do list.

Frank, the humidity here over the weekend was awful. I had my haircut on Saturday and thankfully the salon are back to doing dry cuts again, if I’d paid £20 extra for a blow dry I’d have been fed up after the fuzzy state my hair was in after a walk through the woods to a pub beer garden with John and Bill on Saturday night

((((Ally))))

Have a good day all :)

*It’s still quite muddy now which it never has been in any other August in the last 10 years that we’ve been walking there. I’m still wearing boots for walks, I usually wear Converse in Summer but it’s too muddy in the woods.

Morning everyone

Warm 8-) And hot later

A day at a time Ally, at the moment, that's all you can do xx

Glad you're having a great time Osc x

Love automatics Cruiser :D Like hens teeth over here, but keeping ours as long as we can.

Late start, disturbed night, with Molly and another leak. Didn't bother going in this morning, did a bodge job until this afternoon, as some stitches/staples will be taken out. Ouch

Then onto Pingo. Could do without it, but need some essentials.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all :D

Bright and sunny here 8-)

(((Ally))) echoing Jan, one day at a time xx

Glad you're happy with the new car Cruiser, I've been driving an automatic for some years now, really couldn't go back to a manual.
Your piccies on Fb look lovely Osc, glad you're enjoying your holibobs.
Sorry you had a disturbed night Jan, try to take it easy xx

Bit of a palaver here this morning. Woke up to a sharp beeping sound every few seconds. It was the smoke/heat alarm in the kitchen, it hasn't happened before and we're both hopeless at things like that. Anyway I scrabbled through the house stuff folder and luckily found the product info. After a lot of umming and ahhing we worked out it needed a replacement battery. Luckily the same as the tens machine uses so we had one in the cupboard and it's all fixed. Thank goodness it didn't happen while E was in hospital, the damn thing would still be beeping, apparently it can go on for 30 days or so  Honestly it's one thing after another.

No plans for today, just general housey stuff.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Good afternoon all.
Dead jealous of Osc. We had a few holidays in Italy back in the day and never had a bad one.
Another one here who drives an automatic; we've had autos since 2008.
Doing bits and bobs today, may go and see our daughter later.
Have a lovely day everyone.
