Mushy peas.

Postby Workingman » 30 Jul 2021, 11:59

Oops!

I bought some haddock fillets and thought that they would go nice with some homemade chips and mushy peas. Not all in one go, you understand, just one for tea and three in the freezer. So far so good.

On to the peas. In a pan with bicarb blocks and hot water to soak overnight. Got up this morning and the pan was full to overflowing with the swollen peas. I rinsed them off and put them in a bigger pan to cook and I now have about eight large portions of the damned things.
:o :o :o

I need to transfer loads of them to freezer bags and push them into any nooks and crannies I can find in the already full freezer.

Reminder to self: read the instructions on the packet for portion sizes.

LOL, mushy peas for us tonight as well, with fishcakes. But I'm afraid they're canned ones, Harry Ramsden's finest ..... :cute:

I would have to be really starving before I would eat mushy peas.
Used to have them four days out of five for school dinners for over five years. Put me off for life.
