Good morning Monday

Postby meriad » 26 Jul 2021, 08:15

9am and I'm the first; were is everyone???

good morning all, hope everyone is well?

It's rather dull and grey outside and a tad on the chilly side; looks like it wants to rain but apparently none forecast? We had a lot yesterday afternoon / evening; the garden is rather happy. The birch tree in myfront garden was looking rather sorry for itself and has definitely perked up; having the dust washed off it's leaves helped.

Had a lovely busy weekend doing all sorts of bits and bobs; so today back to the usual / usual of work and pootling. Going to make the most of the next few weeks doing this; come the week starting 6th September we're heading back into the office. I'm hoping we'll be allowed to do a 2/3 split - ie 2 days at home and 3 in the office (and even luckier if the other way round   ).

Have a lovely day all x

Morning Ria, morning everyone

Similar weather here, although probably warmer

Late start, over slept again, it's so quiet without those dogs barking from 7.00 8-) I did wake up, then went back to sleep

Watering done and first cup of coffee  Hot boiled egg butties for Grumpy, as a treat :D

We're heading down to Chris and Lucy's sometime today. Bill, who built the house, was not really a builder and he's made a hash of the bathroom and door. Grumpy had a look, a long time ago, but wasn't sure if he could sort it out. But now they're away, he's going to have a good look. The door just needs to hang the other way around, but how the architrave etc has been done might just make it impossible. But he's going to have a look-see. A surprise for them, when they get back.

Oh dear Ria. Good or not good?

Might pop down to the bar for a coffee afterwards. Not been down for two weeks, due to Paulo and family having the virus, but they're all clear now :Hi:

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all, we slept like logs last night, and to be honest I wouldn’t be too surprised if a little nap didn’t happen later on ;) The weather is changing, it’s mostly overcast with rain forecast for later, the heatwave was wonderful while it lasted. My brother just phoned, delighted with how the whole weekend went. I’ll get some thank you cards for himself and my nieces, they made it such a lovely weekend for the Dublin gang. Apart from general stuff, I’ll be taking it easy today, and Edward has gone to play golf.

Morning all :D

Started off bright and sunny, it's over overcast right now so we're probably in for some rain.

Thinking of Ally and family xx

We had a long lie in and woke up to the news about our medals success, whoop, whoop :D :D :D

E's neck is a bit better, but still not right. At least he managed a shave, he hasn't had one since last Thursday and was beginning to look like Grizzly Adams  Apart from being glued to the box watching the Olympic catch up, not much planned. Expecting a Tesco delivery later and that's about it.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Afternoon all :)

Ria, how are you feeling about back to the office? I know you've enjoyed home working. My Chris has loved it, and is hoping he can carry on but I've a sneaking suspicion that the council will want him back in the offices xxx

Got vegetables sound pretty good to me, Jan :D xxx

Osc, I'm so glad that you enjoyed your special weekend :) xxx

That's very true Saundra - plus hardly anyone sends postcards any more! xxx

I'm glad E is a bit better Jen, I know from experience how awkward bad necks can be :? xxx

Thinking of Ally, and family xxx

It's a very sunny day here, mid 20's so quite pleasant 8-) I put a line of washing out very early on, then another before I went out, then some whites since I got home - making myself an Everest of ironing   I've been to town, then to see D.

Take care everyone :) xxx

I've got quite mixed feelings to be honest Kaz; I'm absolutely loving working from home and could happily do this for the rest of my working life; but I am very aware that my job can't fully be done at home. And actually, the few times I've gone into the office, the normality of a set routine was actually quite comforting if that makes sense, and on the odd occasion when a colleague was in then it was great to have proper work interaction. So in a very ideal world I'd love to have three days at home and two in the office; that I think would be an amazing work/life balance - but I suspect it'll be three in and two home. But then it all also depends on who is in the office and if we have client meetings or not. If clients are coming in then I have to be there as well regardless of how many times a week. What I will say though is that I will be very annoyed if everyone gets to work from home and I don't

I'm sure you can sort something out Ria xx

Blowing a hooley here, but at least it a warm wind for a change

Thought we were just going to have a look at the door. Oh no, he sorted it. Took hours and I was stuck there :cute: :cute: Although I did some weeding, brought in the washing they obviously forgot about  and swept up after Grumpy. He'll have to go back and finish it off, but at least they can open the bathroom door, without having to shimmy around the loo and door.

Great news about the gold medals, really pleased to Tom Daley, love watching the diving.

I’m so late checking in today.

It’s been a busy one. Lots of cleaning, loads and loads of washing seeing as Joe got home from his week in Edinburgh last night and that’s all been ironed and put away.

John’s back in work today after his 10 days isolation, not that he’s home yet. He’s on site visits in Leicester for at least two days this week. It’s their crazy time of year again, when loads of installations are happening so he needs to be on site to check up that things are as they’ve been designed and to help with any queries. He’s really pleased with how it’s going through, it’s quite stressful when their designs are being fitted. Having said that, he’s not home yet. He’ll be shattered tonight, he left here at 6am.

Ria, John’s boss has decided that everyone had to be back in the office full time…although that lasted for just two weeks and very quickly backfired when they were all pinged which shut the office completely!

Have a good evening all :)
