I think that the AB thing started with Man Utd as ABU - Anyone but United, hence Jo's modification.

It has now evolved so that any team can get the AB hit by having their initial letter put in place:

ABA = Arsenal
ABC = Chelsea
ABS = Spurs

and so on.

Osc, UEFA have opened proceedings.

In 1980 a group of us RAF lads were camping in Savona when trouble erupted at the England v Italy game in Turin. The local Carabinieri came on the campsite and "suggested" to any English groups of singles - lads and lasses - that it might be safer to nip over the border and into France at Ventimiglia even though we had nothing to do with the football.

This crap has been going on for decades.

To be fair, I might be an ABE, but I'm probably an even bigger ABN - Anybody but Norwich :lol: :lol:

I'm an ABU, but being from Leeds Jo already knows that. We still get on well, though. ;) :lol: :lol:

There is only one United, and hers is not it. :twisted:

It's not so much that I'm ABE - it would have been nice to see someone like Kalvin Phillips get a winner's medal - but I can't stand the hype.
They suggestion that the next match is the most important ever, the constant "Three Lions" crap, the shot of hysterical BBC pundits leaping around when England score, the constant breathless, relentless narrative that it might be"coming home" - I can't do with any of it. The one eyed commentary, ignoring poor England behaviour whilst condemning everyone else's.

If you win, win with modesty, if you lose, lose with grace, or try to.
It's only football, not WW3. Life goes on, nobody died.
Just dial down the hysteria, but the English media just won't do that; they just ramp it up all the time.
