Good morning Monday

A place to chat with friends, old and new

Good morning Monday

Merry morning everyone

A lovely sunny start to the day here - admittedly not very warm, but for now sunny will do me just fine :D The washing machine is on the go and hopefully I'll get at least one if not two loads dried on the line before it starts raining again.

I had such a busy and amazingly social weekend - things felt almost like totally 'normal'. Saturday met up with a group of friends in a park not too far away to celebrate a mutual friends birthday; I hadn't seen most of them since March last year and everyone had their own picnic blanket all spaced out and people just moved from one blanket to another to be able to chat with everyone. And yesterday went to another friends house for a 60th birthday BBQ - again everything outside and just perfect. The weather gods really smiled down on us because both days it was pouring rain either just before and just after. Saturday there was a bit of drizzle in between, but nothing to make anyone want to pack up and leave.

Today I'm hoping to get a few things done in the garden, n between the usual work. Tomorrow I'm heading into London to spend the day at the office so need to make the most of the fab weather today ;-)

Have a lovely day everyone x

Morning Ria, morning everyone

Another grey and gloomy start to the day  All gone by 10.00, but still

Sounds a lovely week-end Ria :Hi:

Washing machine on here too, Grumpy will be trying to finish of the lights this morning. Been more tricky that we originally thought, but getting there 8-)

Down to Chris and Lucy this afternoon, Lucy needs some mozzie screens. We looked last week, but none would fit, so Grumpy will do some measuring, Chris will get the wood and then he'll make them.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Good morning all, it’s dull but dry at the moment.

Joe had the dreaded message this morning to self isolate, this is the fourth time. Someone at work has tested positive so it’s closed his department for today at least. He’s to be off for 5 days, the department manager just has a day and the others have been given varying time scales to isolate.

I bet Scarlett will be breaking up for the Summer next week, Saundra?

Have a good day all :)

Good morning everyone.

It is coolish and clear for now but rain is forecast, on and off, for most of the day.

Good to hear that you all had decent weekends, as was the case here.

I have to sort the car out. Nissan has issued a recall due to an airbag problem and the RAC who are doing the work have given me a time of Tuesday or Wednesday for them to call round and do the repair work - they will phone first. I have to empty the glove compartment and al the nooks and crannies on the dashboard and doors so probably a bit of an excuse to do a light valeting or something.

Enjoy your day and stay safe. xx

We’ve just come to the conclusion that it’s dated back to the last time they were in contact with the person, but that’s confusing because going back 5 days (to make a total of 10) puts Joe on last Wednesday and he wasn’t in work that day, he was at college.
Unless it starts on the day after contact.

Good morning all.
No Saundra, I don't understand it either. I have heard that schoolkids put coca cola onto part of the test kit, making it return a positive.
A beautiful morning here. We have been to get some eggs and the paper.
We also went up a lovely lane with some expensive houses. HS2 is slated to go straight through some of them. What an absolute shame.
Sunday dinner yesterday was lovely, out with the family.
I did notice that lots of people were paying by card; I do wonder if this means waitresses etc are getting less in tips.
Spoke with a lady in her eighties who told me that because of covid she'd had to pay to have a hip replacement. £12,000.
Have a good day all.

Good morning everybody.

Got caught in avery heavy downpour going for a Covid test. Only had to take a swab up one of my nostrils. I will get the results tomorrow by text and/pr email.
The rain has stopped and the sun is trying to come out.
More cleaning this afternoon and tidying up. Though I had lost the sugur container. It is a white jar with a dark blue lid. It was in one of the last
boxes I emptied yesterday.
Things are slowly getting back to normal.
Have a good day everybody

Crafty little wotsits :o

Weather permitting we're planning to get out in the garden for more weeding with the clever Grumpy Gardner spade. Need to keep an eye on E to make sure he doesn't overdo it this time. Also expecting a Tesco delivery this afternoon.

Hope you all have a good day, stay safe xx
