Oh, the shame!

:? We've just bought two new Shark vacuums, on Amazon Prime day, half price - one big upright, and a rechargeable to keep upstairs. I ran the upright over the downstairs and the first flight of stairs this morning, and the amount of crud that it picked up was absolutely mortifying   I only ran the Dyson round a few days ago :? :? The pile has come up like new as well!

As we're all tiled floors I can see really easily any dirt and often think how much crud gets hidden in a carpet.

how old is the dyson and have you been replacing filters etc?

I only have one large rug in the lounge, otherwise it's wood (well laminate) floor and washable rugs. I'd hate to know the state of any carpet with my feline gang

I fancied a Shark but a bit expensive so I bought an ugly Hoover a few years back. Loads of attachments but rubbish!

Then just after Christmas I was in B&M and there was a Black and Decker 2-in-1 in a damaged box for £19.99 down from £39.99. It is an upright and hand-held and it is absolutely brilliant. :D :D :D

That's quite a bargain Frank :D :Hi:

Ria, about 9 years as it was new when we moved here, and yes Mick maintained it! The difference in the suction with the Shark was tremendous!

It’s shocking isn’t it Kaz!

I’d used the Dyson (always well maintained!) the day before my Shark arrived! I took a photo after using the Shark for the first time to show John just how much it had picked up. Did you get the anti-hair wrap one? It deals perfectly with long hair, the Dyson was forever getting jammed up with hair around the brush but it’s not happened once with the Shark.

The Dyson wasn’t that old either, three or four years, and it was a full sized Animal version too.

I’ve still got the hand held cordless Dyson which I used to use to give the stairs and upholstery a quick going over but I can’t remember the last time I used it, it’s easier to use the Liftaway function.

I find with Dyson they are brilliant to start with but they loose power. Although the hair wrap round on my Shark still seems to get an awful lot of my hair wrapped round it

Now you mention it Jo, I remember you posting about that!  Yes it's the anti hair version Shell, Becky sheds long hair like there's no tomorrow, so I guess we'll see :cute:
