Always check your pockets...

Postby Ally » 23 Jun 2021, 09:04

...

I've taken my case up to the dressing room to start thinking (only thinking  ) of packing. I normally only take a 10kg case but as I'm looking to be away for a couple of months I've upped the ante to a 20kg case in the hold and a smaller case to carry on.

Anyway...was looking at what jacket to take over. I only have two. A Levi denim one and a denim Burberry which I do wear. Not having worn the Levi one for absolutely ages I put it aside to take to the clothes bank.

Don asked if I'd checked the pockets. I hadn't.

I did.

Found a 50Є note and a euro coin. :o :o

Thanks Don. I'll put it towards a new jacket.

Ria I actually booked this flight way back in March and for 84 euros I got a 20kg case, 10kg case, a rucksack, the seat I always like and priority boarding.

Looking at the prices now they are much more expensive.

Ally, if it's a genuine Levi 501 jacket then do no send it to the clothes bank - flog it. If it is in decent nick but showing wear it could be worth getting on for €80 or so.

I have one from my "Mod" days of the 60s and 70s all bagged up and sealed to pass on the Becky. Last time I looked it was over £100.

Kaz.... when we cleared out mum's clothes two years ago two things were apparent.

a) blimey that woman loved her jackets. I lost count of them.

b) In every single one of them there was a pound coin in one of the pockets.

WM... it is an original Levi jacket. As are my Levi jeans but they're going nowhere until they fall to bits.

I cba selling the jacket  but I've taken a photo and put it on my works WhatsApp.

Alba has requested it and as it's her 30th birthday next Thursday she can have it as an extra present.

I'll be treating myself on my shopping spree with sis in Glasgow and a new jacket is top of the list.

I've seen some really nice cord ones which would suit the spring/autumn weather here just fine.

So I'm going over jacketless.
