Grey and cloudy this morning. We'rein for a few cooler days, with the possibility of thunderstorms tomorrow :Hi: :Hi: That means rain   :Hi:

Just about to cut Grumpy's hair, then we'll head of to the dreaded Pingo, pick up a couple of things in the chemist and then back for breakfast.

Must remember to water the tomatoes when we get back.

Other than that, not a lot 8-)

Havea good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Good morning Janb and anybody else who is up.

Just done some ironing. Now going to have a coffee before I do the shirts.
The sun is out but there are some fluffy clouds about.
Got a device to help to put my socks on. It is a large flexible hand which I put inside the sock. I then pt my foot inside the sock and pull the sock on with the two straps
attached to the hand.
I had problems bending my leg to get my socks on. This has solved the problem.

Have a good day everybody.

Morning all :D

Glorious sunshine, lovely 8-)

All this sunshine has made us think about all our lovely holibobs. We're not getting any younger and the cost of travel insurance for me in particular is exorbitant. Keeping fingers tightly crossed our health and the vaccine situation abroad make it possible to get away a few more times.

Expecting Boots to deliver meds this afternoon and that's about it. The garden and my kindle beckons.

Hope you all have a good day, stay safe xx

Morning everyone :D

Jan, we have another sunny and warm day today and then same as you we're in for a few cooler days with rain. Can't say I'm going to complain - the rain is very much needed.
Cruiser, I've heard of those gadgets - they are meant to be fab; I'm glad you're finding it helps
Jen, hopefully you can get away a few more times still. As for the travel insurance - just one of those things but at least it allows you to get away and enjoy yourself. And that enjoyment is priceless ;-)

I've got two loads of washing on the line; making the most of the sunshine whilst it's here and everything is drying lovely and fast :D. Will be heading to Sainsbury's later today and then over to Karl and Nadine for the rest of the afternoon and have dinner there. So a perfect day combining work and play

Have a lovely day all x

Done loads of not much this morning
Jen I don think it's worth the risk of even booking a holiday unless it's in UK
Sit in your garden and order a afternoon tea

I agree Saundra, I don't think it's worth booking anything abroad right now. All the people moaning about their holidays being ruined by having to quarantine, tests etc can't say they weren't warned. It's definitely very much a case of buyer beware. I just hope that by the time it is safe to travel again E and I are able to.

Ria I agree travel insurance is just one of those things we must do, but for our cancelled trip to Barbados at the start of lockdown it was almost £600, a lot of money to lose. Now that I'm 75 it will be even more.

Afternoon all, it’s another very hot and sunny one.

I took Bill for a very long shady walk in the woods early this morning. I really must start taking a pair of secateurs out with me because some of the paths he loves are now getting brambles and new shoots of holly growing across them, I take a small crossbody bag with me when it’s too warm for a coat so that I can carry my phone and keys so they’d fit in that

I’ve changed the beds and the last duvet cover is already almost dry on the line! I also walked across to the post office with Bill, I had to post a birthday card and he managed to stretch the walk out around the village a bit, he’s so stubborn and digs his paws in and refuses to move if he wants to go a different way.

Joe’s just got home from college so we’ve had chicken salad wholemeal rolls for lunch and now we’re watching old episodes of Friends.

Jen, our thoughts have turned to holidays recently. That’s the one thing that we feel we’re missing out on, we don’t go out to pubs or for meals very often so the restrictions with those aren’t really affecting us. It’s not the fact that they could be cancelled, it’s the thought of having to wear a mask for the duration of the flight, the tests and the extra faff at airports. We really want to get back to LA but wearing a mask for 10 hours on the flight (plus in the airport beforehand)? No thanks.

Have a good day all :)

I have got travel insurance just for me for the four night cruise in July. It is only sailing from and back to Southampton. Not calling at any ports.
I have a couple of medical problems which I declare. I am now 86. Cost is just over £100.00 for the single trip.
I have got to have it as otherwise I would not be allowed on the ship

Hello everyone :)

Another scorching day here! I walked into town before it got too hot, to meet my friend J for a cuppa. Then I got a couple of bits for D, and some lovely fruit at a really good price from the greengrocers in Kings Square :D Two big punnets of blueberries, a huge bunch of bananas, some mandarins, and some raspberries, all for £7 :D :D I walked home via D's and have been relaxing since I got in, as it's too blooming got to do much else  Salad for dinner, no Zumba tonight - I did it last night but it's not sensible in this heat.

Love to all xxx
