As part of my rehabilitation

Postby Suff » 27 May 2021, 14:43

I've been revamping the garden. Basically Mrs S wanted it done, in other words.

This is what it looked like 2 years ago when we had just put the new platform in for our "recreation" area. Which will get done over the next 3 years (If I don't expire first).

However after about 5 tons of digging and earth shifting, we are almost ready to lay turf, which is ordered and will be delivered on June 8th. Just one hell of a lot of raking and rolling to do until then.

Personally I feel great so the rehabilitation work must be doing the job. :D :D :D

You should put it on one of the TV shows which do garden makeovers.
Watched part of a programme last night on TV where a yong couple are building a house. Have got young foreign people working unpaid as labourers.
Just shows what can be done if yu have the contacts.

Cruiser, we knew when we started that the house could be a target for that kind of show. But we both prefer our privacy. This house is 19 years of work and money to produce something which is finally making it to what we will love and enjoy. It may not be a chateau, but it was built before Dick and Angels place and has it's own history.

When we bought the first house it was two bedroomed and very basic. It is now 6 bedroomed, 5 bathrooms and a toilet, 3 public rooms, two offices and a gym. The last bedroom is still a building site and one of the public rooms too. However another year will see almost all of that sorted.

The following picture is the rough dimensions. The swimming pool is 8m x 4.6m. This image is from before spring 2019 as the large patio had not been constructed.

Mrs S is doing the levelling today. Apart from working, I simply can't hold anything in my left hand. I've been 2 days without socks...

The turf arrives on the 8th. I'd better be fit for the weekend. Lot of work to complete.

The turf arrived this morning and I had a little time to work with Mrs S to lay some. Hopefully we'll get the rest done tomorrow morning.

Suff,

I have just had new flags fitted on the front garden. It looks much better. I have not walked on them yet.
Will take a photo and try and post it on here. You would have probably done it before lunch.
Took the flagger two days but he was very professional
