Afternoon all, yet another day with a feeling of Spring in the air, that’s three in a row but according to the forecast, normal service will be resumed by the weekend  We were out for a walk this morning, met Edward’s niece and her three children, it was nice to see them and have a chat. Haven’t done much more than the usual tidying around, and we did the supermarket order for tomorrow. I’ll catch up on my word games and do some knitting.

Thanks for the good wishes all.
Good news and bad.
Bad news is they haven't operated on anyone's hip since February last (apart from emergencies, obviously).
Also I need to lose some more weight.
Good news is that once I have lost the weight and they start operating again, there isn't much of a waiting list.
So all in all, better than I expected. :)

Next I get my jab tomorrow.

That does sound promising Crommers!! 8-)

Any news from E, Jen? I should think he may be home by now, hope all has gone well x

Thanks everyone for the good wishes and kind thoughts, it's been lovely here but since I can't go out, the most I have done is sit in a sunny conservatory and completed the daily crossword! It's not often I finish it so quite an achievement.

I have done some painting this afternoon. I was intending to give my bedroom wicker chair a second coat but the fire surround looks a bit yellowed, so I painted that plus the skirting board behind the telly unit that should have been done in November when I did the rest! It looks so much brighter!! And I've shunned high gloss for satin finish so it looks a bit more on trend. Covid? What Covid?? Perfect opportunity to do it as with no sense of smell, the paint's not giving me a headache! 8-)

I'm going to make a pork stir fry shortly, not that I'll be able to taste it much, but still.

Enjoy your evening xx

That's fairly good news Crommers.... esp as you will have the time to lose the weight and then hopefully get the operation done asap.

Gal, every cloud and its silver lining right? :D Glad you're feeling a bit better x

Fingers crossed you don't have to wait too long Crommers.

E's appointment went well, he was home around 3.30. Mr. Palmer is very pleased with him and wants to get the re-op done asap. Apparently they are prioritising urgent patients as in life threatening and life changing, E comes into the latter group. While there he had all the pre-op tests done, ECG, bloods etc, and depending on the results will be given a date to go in. He must wait 4 weeks from the vaccine so the earliest it could happen is 10th March. We weren't expecting much to happen before April so any date before then would be a bonus.

Glad all went well for E, Jen and fingers crossed for an early operation.

Satin is kinder than gloss Gal, glad you have the energy,

Tell you what Crommers, you and I will go on a diet together and will help each other 8-)

Just come inside, although lit the fire about an hour ago. Chills down really quickly once the sun goes down
