May she rest in peace. I may not have always agreed with her, but always admired her strength of character and the fact that she stood up to the miners. I think she had a very sad life in recent years. May she rest in peace.

I don't "do" politics at all but I do have a huge respect for Margaret Thatcher. Sure I don't agree with everything she did but boy that woman had balls!

Some of the comments appearing on FB are quite vicious - when it boils down to it an old lady, with a husband, children and grandchildren has died. Is it really the appropriate time for snide, nasty comments.

I know what you mean Debbie, I read a football forum and the thread on there already runs to 26 pages, all of it nasty!!

Like you, I don't agree with all that she did but she'd got more balls than any of those who have followed her into Number 10.

Yes I agree with you all, and they've had all these years to be as nasty as they like, but not now please.

Debih that is almost identical to the post I just made on a friends thread on Facebook. Some respect for the dead, and their relatives, at such times is in order IMO

I have deleted two friends from my FB page for their awful comments. Stupid people - one of them is even taking time out of their holiday to post the comments.

Interestingly, most of the comments that were showing up to me were all from one family - a staunch labour family who in their eyes Labour can do no wrong. Even their 17 year old commented - and he will have no idea what he was on about, just carrying on the family tradition.

It bugs me that some of those making the nastiest comments were not even born, or were very young, when Maggie was PM. A lot of their 'info' is taken from nothing more than headlines and prejudice.

RIP Maggie.
