Ria, the local charity shop has stopped taking soft goods like clothes, towels, bedding etc., so they will go in the RNLI / Air Amb / Salvation Army containers. The shop, though not open, will take the phones, mp3, Blu-ray / DVD-CD players, pots and pans and so on as it has an eBay 'shop', all I need to do is get a time to leave them at the door and give them a knock.

Then what I need is a shredder for all the paperwork going back years.... :o and an outlet for all my old IT books - the basic stuff in them is still relevant even if things have moved on.

Good afternoon everybody.

Had a phone call from the doctor about mrs.e. She was asleep so I did not wake her. Told him she had the x-ray yesterday afternoon. He is still waiting for the results.
But he said he was not happy with the blood test results.
He will phone again later today or tomorrow.
I am now going to put the washer on and do some dusting.

Have a good day everybody.

Re the books, what about checking with local schools / libraries?

And as for the paperwork; if you don't have a shredder then what about having a company come collect it all for you. Nadine and Karl do that because of their business; they have a lot of paperwork. It's a confidential waste service - you get a bag, fill it and then securely close it and then they come collect and give you a certificate of confidential waste disposal.

I can find out the details if you'd like me to?

Thanks Ria, but it is not really worth spending on. It's old letters, well out of date stuff from banks, insurance etc. I no longer use, work itineraries for when I went overseas, plane tickets, user manuals for stuff long gone - you get the idea?

Next door has an old corrugated metal bin so I might ask for a loan and have me a little 'brazier' fire. ;)

Good idea about the books, though, once the schools reopen. I have already gifted them things like old desktops, motherboards and so on so the pupils can have a play without breaking any important kit.
