We use ours mostly for reheating, cooking porridge and scrambled eggs. We do use it most days for something and wouldn’t like to be without it.

Jan, if you have microwave safe small ramekins you can use those. My ex used to do them for the children using the pulse method - full power for 30 seconds, rest, full for 20 secs, rest, full for 10 secs, rest - keep going till they are cooked to your liking.

I have a deep 3 inch (8 cm) one egg frying pan and I 'water fry' my eggs for that poached look and taste. I got it from Klas Olsen and they are as rare as hen's teeth.

We use our microwave daily. Tom uses it to warm up milk before adding a shot of coffee from the Nespresso machine. I use it for eggs (scrambled and poached - I have silicone poaching pods), for my Ready Brek, heating anything out of a can or frozen peas and while John’s been working from home I sometimes heat up the leftovers that I freeze for his lunch, normally he’d take them to work (and use the microwave there).

Ours is used every day to cook my breakfast (I have porridge every day) sometimes to defrost something or reheat a drink but I’d rather have one than not. Even if I wasn’t a porridge eater!!
