Good morning Wednesday

Postby Ally » 26 Aug 2020, 05:04

Good morning.

Meeting up yesterday with Kaz, Ria and Frank was so lovely. The time just flew. :D

It's amazing to think a forum has forged such good friendships. :cute:

Craig's taking me to some country park today and as I type I just cannot remember its name!

A nice long ramble then a pub lunch. :D

We're having a kitchen quizathon tonight. :D

Have a great day.

Safe travels Kaz and have a lovely catch up with your friend. xx

Morning Ally, morning everyone

A warm start here, was rather a warm night too. Hot later 8-)

Glad you had a great time yesterday, shame it as only the four of you.

Off to Ourique after breakfast, we need to go to the Junta, to ask the president to sign the form that Grumpy needs signing to say he is alive and well  He can then continue to get his pension

Then the deep joy that is shopping at Pingo - hate that shop with a passion - then coffee on the way back and that's about it for the day.

Salad for dinner, too hot to cook.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

It's the Arboretum we're going to Saundra. It looks great.

The Brum meet has only been the 4 or 5 of us the past few years Jan. A lovely amount to just focus on each other. :D

I've just taken Ronnie Dog a walk.

Morning all, it’s a nice bright morning here which is a relief after the misery of yesterday. We are off to a big shopping centre later, a few things to buy, but more importantly dipping our toe in doing something as normal as possible. I have a bag of clothes to leave into TK Maxx for their charity bin, I want to get stuff in Boots, and we will have a cuppa and cake. It feels like such a big expedition. Glad you four had fun yesterday!

Morning all

Yesterday was such fun, and as you say Jan - it was a pity it was only the four of us, but that didn't stop us talking the hind leg off a donkey
We had four and a bit hours together and they just flew by

I'm currently sitting at my brothers and working from here - he had ordered a new window and it's typical - delivery date given for when they were due to be away on holiday; so I said I'd come and wait in for it . And daft me, sort of forgot about that arrangement and ordered a freezer for delivery for this morning as well :D - that is just so typical me. So cue a quick message to my neighbour to ask if he'd accept delivery of my freezer and then I could come here; but my freezer was delivered lovely and early and I got here just as the van was pulling in - they were 20 minutes early :D so win win all round

About to head to Sainsbury's to get them some food so they have stuff in for breakfast and then I'll head home

Have a lovely day all x

Morning all, and yet again I am on a train  I hadn't been out of Gloucester since February and suddenly two days in a row  Today it's Bristol meeting up with my old school friend Clare, who I haven't seen since B was a baby! Lots to catch up on ;)

Ally, Ria, it was wonderful to see you both again, here's to next time! :D As Ria said though it would be nice to see more VVers, any time 8-) :D

Ally the Arboretum sounds great, I love the Westonbert one not far from Gloucester! Xxx

Grumpy signing himself alive sounds like a good plan Jan ;) xx

I'm getting my hair cut again next week Saundra, it's growing really fast! xxx

Enjoy your expedition Osc :D xx

Is it a big freezer for all your allotment goodies Ria? 8-) xxx

Have a good day everyone :) xxx

Morning all :D

Heavy wind overnight, it's not as fierce now, but very cloudy.

Glad the four of you enjoyed your meet. It's always great fun getting together with online friends.
Hope your parcel arrives on time and you enjoy the haircut Saundra.
Gosh you have been busy Ria.
Enjoy another day out Kaz.

E had a letter from our GP a couple of days ago, apparently he has a low folic acid level in his blood. He's been prescribed 5mg to take for 4 months and will need another blood test in 6 months time. Hopefully that means nothing else was picked up so fingers crossed his op will go ahead next Wednesday as planned. Of course after my experience we won't be counting our chickens until the actual admission day.

Today we'll be making a few changes around the house, mainly moving things we use regularly to lower shelves. I do have a small step I can use to reach things, but it worries the pants off E, he says I'm much too clumsy   I can definitely do without him flapping about and trying to do things he shouldn't when he gets out of hospital.

Hope you all have a good day, stay safe xx

Good afternoon - sunny intervals, and decidedly breezy; still quite pleasant though. I think all our tomato plants have come through the gales unscathed, but we need some decent ripening weather now.

Glad you all enjoyed the Brum meet yesterday - you're certainly off galivanting around at the moment, Kaz! :D

Walked into town this morning with a bag of clothing to donate to the local disability charity shop. It's quite pokey inside, so I dropped it off and ran, but not before they'd interrogated me about what was in it - I think they are only taking clothes and nothing else at present. Then to the local building society agency to put a bit of surplus cash away, as we are simply not spending anything at the moment; I guess many of us are like that currently. The High Street was quite quiet, about 20% of folk were masked up on the street, but many, like me, just wear them inside the shops.

I hope E's treatment can go ahead as planned, Jenni.

Nothing else planned for the day - stay safe, folks!
