BBC news slots could go.

Fran Unsworth the head of BBC news says that some slots could go within a decade. She is talking about those on the TV channels such as News at Six and at Ten.

The BBC website reported this in a "we are the news" sort of way then opened up a Have Your Say (HYS) comments section.

It lasted two hours! The vast majority were not shy in telling the BBC just what they thought of it and why they would not miss it if it went subscription or even disappeared.

It is certainly true that these people might not be a majority yet they do represent a sizeable minority, and a growing one. What the people had to say certainly struck a nerve with the top brass and so the HYS was shut down.

I would have no regrets at all in witnessing the demise of BBC News broadcasts, along with all their political correctness, insufferable commentary and propaganda in its many variations.

Their on-line News reports tend to be a bit more balanced and factual rather than opinionated twaddle, and at least, as you pointed out over HYS, people have an opportunity to shout back!
