I just want somebody to say no to them because I believe the more power they get the bigger the mob mentality will become

Absolutely right MM! What are their next lot of demands going to be? Because it's for sure there will be more demands.

Perhaps there needs to be debate on a new crime of attacking British Cultural heritage. A petition would give them the space to do this.

If we tear down all these statues, we deny the fact that we led the world out of these activities. So by destroying our less acceptable history we hide our greatest success.

I am so disgusted about what is going on at the moment. Why stage a protest in the middle of a coronavirus pandemic when we are all supposed to be keeping 2 metres apart, and why make the rule and then allow it to be broken. Enough of a furore was made about Dominic Cummings and his ill-advised trip to Barnard Castle.

I don't understand why people think they can deface or pull down statues that they don't like the look of. They can always petition to have them put in a museum alongside literature explaining the good things or the bad things about how they conducted their lives. They are part of our history so why should an anarchist mob decide whether or not they should be removed.

And why all the 'taking the knee' by the police. They are supposed to be apolitical and impartial. When my other half was a serving officer he was not even allowed to join any political party, and rightly so. Police officers can have any opinion they want privately but when they are on duty they are there purely to uphold the law and serve the public.

I hope the Police are putting together riot task forces to drag them off to jail and charge them the following day. Then I hope the justice system is fast tracking trials for these people.

They should all be jailed for 3 months, no time off, no early release. It would stop this DEAD in its tracks.

Doubt it will happen but it should.

Violent protesters to be jailed within 24 hours
Courts prepare fast-track prosecutions for latest Black Lives Matter demonstrations

Not usual for the government to be on the same wavelength.

It comes at the same time as we hear they are scaling back their demonstrations because they have heard that they are being targeted by "hate" groups.

Where is rent a mob getting it's money from? Anyway, nice to see that the government has sensed the mood of the majority.

The BLM protests are in danger of creating a seismic shift in society.

Go read some online comments pages of mainstream media and you will find many people getting angry at the rewriting of history, the remocval of monuments and the taking down of shows from media platforms. You wil see plenty of comments along the lines of: "I have never been openly racist. I might, on occasion, have inadvertently done things that some say are racist and for those I apologise, but if I am going to be cast as a racist just because of who I am then ....."

Some people are playing dangerous games.
