Thanks for that playlist, Frank, which I've happily sampled. That's a good collection, but it's a little bit bland for me, it's what I'd play as background music whilst doing something else, if you see what I mean. :D As Gal said earlier, everyone has different tastes.

Over the years, I've listened to and enjoyed many variants of Country, World Music, even Scottish Pipes! Tastes change as well over time.

It occurs to me that the closest I've probably ever got to your Northern Soul, and one of my favourite bands at that time (the mid 70's), is possibly the Ozark Mountain Daredevils …. Country, I know, but very mellow.

Meanwhile, a little indulgance for Gal and myself ...

Ossie, I kept it mild so as not to frighten you, but thanks for listening. ;)

BTW JT were part of the 'other stuff' such a CSN&Y. I wasn't averse to other music, good music of all types, I just could not stand Funk and Disco. :(

I was madly in love with Emmilou Harris and Linda Ronstadt - and some of their music as well. :D

By sheer coincidence, I was listening to Emmylou Harris as you were posting that ……

"Our Town" was the closing theme music on the final episode of the cult series "Northern Exposure". One of my all-time favourite TV shows and music tracks

Thanks for those Ossie - both good ones! :D

WM there are some of those that you posted that I like too - I'm not a big C&W fan but I can appreciate some lighter stuff ;)

I'd probably have put Hold Back the Night into a disco category....

Gal, as with every genre there are always things to pick out. Classical in general does nothing for me .... but there are some pieces I could listen to over and over.
