Jasper loves his walks and is wonderful when he is free to run across fields and open spaces. He behaves well with other dogs and owners and comes back to me to have his lead put back on. So far so good. On the street however it is a different story. He pulls like mad and barks and lunges at passing cars. A couple of times we have nearly had an accident. Fortunately I can usually pop him in the car (he is great in the car too, no problem at all) and take him to his favourite walks, so pulling on the lead isn't a problem. But of course there are times when I want to walk him from the house and so I needed to sort out this problem.
He has had training, but still pulls. I have tried harnesses, he still pulls. I tried a Halti, but he wouldn't tolerate that anywhere near him. Finally, after some searching online I came across the GenCon I thought it was worth a try so ordered one which came yesterday.
I tried it out in the house and in the garden first of all, with lots of treats and praise. It seemed to be working. Last night, while the road was quiet I took him out with it on and it works well. Jasper seems happy to have it on, he can't pull and lunge so much and if he does, it is like having a cat on the end of the lead and not a strong dog The big test will be today when I take him out when the road is busy. Wish me luck
