I have spent nearly all day in the kitchen.

I love it in there so much - it will be even better when it is completely finished. And when James arrives (he was supposed to come this weekend but too much snow around still).

I have a Chinese slow cooked belly pork on the go, beef marinading ready for making a big stew tomorrow, a loaf of banana bread and L made some gorgeous chocolate brownies.

I am currently in the middle of making a butternut squash, chickpea and chilli soup ready for lunch tomorrow.

I even stood in there to do my ironing whilst I watched Masterchef on the Kindle Fire.

Tomorrow afternoon I am hoping to find the time to start making jam - unless Mick is in there doing more jobs.

:D :D :D

I'm loving it - I've been in there again nearly all day today. I have done my two favourite things today - riding this morning and then in the kitchen this afternoon.

I have had a productive afternoon. I have made a lovely big beef stew for dinner tomorrow, some parsnip soup and a mince and potato pie for dinner. S has made hot cross buns.

And this morning, in case you are interested, I was practising some dressage moves!

Sounds like bliss. How is the layout working?

Its okay but I do find myself walking backwards and forwards to the cutlery draw alot.

I have found that I am working at the worktop at the end of the room, with the cooker to my left hand side. I knew I would.

The sink is directly to my right so that's fine. But the cutlery drawers are to the right, further down the kitchen and its a bit of a pain.

I could use the worktop above the drawers - which would probably be more sensible as they don't have the wall cupboards over them but that would mean turning backwards and forwards to the cooker as it would be behind me.

But its fine - I have my knives and cooking utensils in holders where I work so it isn't too bad.

That's where I work Debih, immediately to the right of the cooker :) It's a small space, but practical.
The drawer with cutlery is to the right, but at the left back of the cooker is a large 'utensils' container, with wooden spoons and spatulas, fish slices, ladle, all sorts. And a drawer to the left has knife slots, plus kitchen scissors, rolling pin, etc.
The worktop opposite is larger, but away from all that, so it's where Bb gets to work if he helps :D
