Humph - 2nd attempt and now forgotten what I said

We can all appreciate how you both must feel, but really, safety of the students is paramount. And you know it makes sense, really. As it's such a long way to go, I'm sure the college will sort something out.

And it won'0t end up just being a beach party - hopefully ;)

No I know that Ton, of course the safety aspect is the main thing - I don't think I once said on here that I wanted them to disregard the advice and go despite it did I? ;)

I just hope it gets sorted so the kids can have something approaching what they've expected and paid for. Thanks all for the support xxxxxx

No worries Kaz - having read it back - just, it does come across as a bit patronising - sorry again. I was cooking come chorizo and I could smell it catching

I'm sure that things will sort themselves out and Becky will have a great time,

Trouble is, the same as an individual, the college probably don't have the option of cancelling.
Since the Foreign Office haven't officially advised against travelling to Borneo per se, only to specific areas, it won't cut with an insurance company.
No doubt the college will be trying all angles, but their only option may well be to go ahead and arrange what they can, which would still be better than the students having shelled out all that money, not going, but not getting a refund either...
really hope it works out as either a cancellation or a trip that is still interesting and worthwhile Kaz.
Btw, on that note, hopefully once the initial shock has worn off, you can help B understand it will still be worth going, if that's what happens. It really would be awful if she went all that way, to what's still a very exciting destination, without thinking she could/would enjoy it ((((((Kaz and B)))))

That's what is worrying me Di - that instead of cancelling the whole thing they will end up taking the kids on a beach holiday - very expensive and not at all what all of us parents have coughed up for.....Best case scenario is they find some other excursions to make the huge outlay worthwhile :? I think what's also upsetting me is that I have used some of my mum and dad's money they left me to pay for this as an educational trip.......they would have been so chuffed to be helping her education in this way.....

Trying not to worry about it this weekend as nothing can be done over the Bank Hols - hopefully Tuesday will bring some answers. Thanks again everyone for being so supportive xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Why does everything always happen over a weekend or bank holiday, leaving you fretting and feeling helpless
