I can't resist some of the Kindle Daily Deals though I do only buy the ones I really want to read, or think I'll want to read.

I have just started Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn.

I have been waiting for ages for it to come in at the library.

I'm reading Elizabeth Jane Howard's 'Falling' and appreciating the beautiful writing, the 'show not tell' of her characters and my need to know what happens to the two main ones, again each chapter written from the Him and the Her perspective as in 'Gone Girl' but by a very British author as opposed to the very Americna Gillian Flynn.

Oh I've loved her work ever since 'Something in Diguise' was on TV, umpteen years ago, I bought the book straight away.
Must add her to my little notebook as there are some of hers I haven't read.

I bought it because I listened to the Radio 4 series of her modern classic 'The Cazalet Chronicles' with Penelope Wilton (such a voice for radio) narrating and delicious acting and story and so glad I did. I'm going to read her autobiography 'Slipstream' next as she's lived an exciting and interesting life. Married to Peter Scott and Kingsley Amis had to be interesting!
