She's made an excellent choice, the fact that she'll actually be doing work within the zoo is such an exciting prospect :D

It's got me wishing I could turn the clock back 30 years and make some different decisions Kaz

If I remember correctly my friend's sister went to Bristol Uni, she was a few years older than us, to study something to do with zoology...and I'm not sure where my friend went but she's now lecturing at an agricultural college near to here.

Same here Jo - I was Uni material but too unmotivated and flighty to study and knuckle down - I took the 'easy' option of a civil service clerical job at 17 instead...............I'm glad my girl has more about her than I had

Looks like an excellent choice by Becks, well done that girl, and well done that mum for her support. :D :D :D

Has she any ideas about where she will go to do her finals or will that depend on the modules she picks in the first two years?

I was planning on studying for a pharmacy degree, I wanted to be a pharmacist from about age 10 until 14...and then I discovered boys and going out and totally lost all interest in school, especially the sciences which I needed, and was the first out of the door on the day we could leave school. I'd returned all the text books which we were allowed to borrow until after our exams had finished and did no revision...and still passed six O Levels :? I can't tell you how much I regret throwing away my education. I ended up going to college to study hairdressing.
Thankfully Tom isn't like me. The jury's still out on Joe.

I was out most of yesterday so only properly catching up now. I'm so pleased for Becky - well done her, and fantastic for you to have her close'ish by; but still far enough from home that she gets to enjoy proper uni life.

I envy her knowing so wholeheartedly what she wants to do - at her age I had no clue
