Work 9 - 11 then meeting a friend for coffee and a pitufo.

Lots to keep me busy until classes 4 - 7 then home to a Thai creation from my masterchef.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Lovely sunrise so should be a good day.

We had the promised rain yesterday so was rather cool in the morning and early afternoon, but we were able to sir outside with a beer or two later

Much improved, thanks Ally. Still not gone and his eye is rather bloodshot, but by the end of the day, think we can stop the cream. Or maybe tomorrow, to be on the safe side.

Ironing for me this morning, then heading outside to do some dead-heading and no doubt, pull up some weeds

Counting down now Crommers, won't be long

Good morning all, I'm waiting for the rain to stop - which wasn't forecast and according to the apps we have 0% chance of it - so that I can walk Bill and get some washing out to dry.

There's an Amazon delivery of coffee and a dog calming spray due later. I'm trying the spray to see if it'll help Bill seeing as fireworks go on sale today.

Ally, is it just me or have your temperatures dropped quite quickly - I know it was really hot for so long, but it seems you've gone from the high 30's down to the high 20's almost overnight. But as you say - quite pleasant really

Jan, glad you got that much needed rain. Ointment for one extra day sounds a good idea I think and certainly won't harm

Jo, hope the rain does stop and you can get that walk in. As for Bill, have you ever tried one of the pressure jackets for dogs? They're meant to work quite well. Also think about the fireworks CD thing - you build it up a bit each day so the affected animals gets used to the noise. Again they're meant to be really good with a fairly high success rate?

Well, a usual / usual for me. It's a dull and dreary day so I'll be going home to do not very much.

I tried building him to the noise with a fireworks CD a couple of years ago Ria and it didn't make any difference unfortunately, and we've also tried a thunder shirt on him and it made him even more anxious. Funnily enough, some mornings when we're out walking he hears gun shot from the farms and doesn't flinch and fireworks don't bother him when we're out either, it's just when we're in the house.

Good morning all, it is a nice morning here, cooler of course but that is to be expected. I think I will change the bed linen this morning, then do some ironing. We will do the supermarket run this afternoon. Edward has gone to play golf.

Poor boy - I really wish they'd ban the sale of fireworks to the general public and limit it to larger displays (on two, maybe three weekends of the year only). And even these larger displays - they are so so unnecessarily loud; I feel so sorry for the people that live close to them. So many people affected by them; not just animals.

Make no mistake - I love fireworks and think they're very pretty; but there needs to be so much more regulation for them

Morning all

Torrential rain yesterday evening, the usual flooding in Ramsgate town centre. It happens regularly so the shop keepers are used to it, expect they had a lot of cleaning up to do before opening this morning. Nice, dry and bright now, think the forecast is good for the rest of the day.

Glad Grumpy's eye is much improved, another day with the ointment sounds a good plan.

I agree totally Ria, I love fireworks too, but they do need more regulation.

Had a good hydro session yesterday, a bit less sore today. We'll be popping out to the shops in an hour or so. Planning to take a look at Aldi, we've never been in the one down here although it's actually the closest supermarket to us. Don't need a lot and if they haven't got what we want we'll just drive on to the Manston Tesco.

Ria and Jen, I love fireworks too but there definitely needs to be more restrictions. Why do they need to go on sale now? Bonfire night is 3 weeks away, why not put them on sale that weekend?

For much the same reason Christmas goes on sale in September, Easter immediately after Christmas. It's all about extra sales, they bank on people buying early, using/eating stuff early and having to buy all over again, completely nuts!!!
