Or an alarm like the one I have on my phone. You scan in a barcode, any barcode, like the one off the coffee jar, then set the alarm. The alarm will only turn off when you rescan that barcode. So you actually have to get out of bed and do something to shut the damn thing up.

I have become adept at removing the battery whilst half asleep. It needs to be a fixture which can't be interfered with outside of getting out of bed....

But the barcode one is interesting. Not quite so good if it's in your hotel room though....

There is always the barcode on the toothpaste. Just means you would have to always buy the same brand, or generate a barcode yourself and laminate it then stick it on your key ring. You'd never loose your keys again
