The effect of bad weather!

Postby Osc » 22 Mar 2013, 19:39

After a day of relentless rain, and an easterly gale rendering our house very difficult to heat, I finally cracked and said I needed sweet things, something, anything. It had stopped raining finally, so I dragged myself up to the local shop in search of calories.....the girl on the till told me that people had been buying cakes and sweets all day   Came home with some fruit scones and Mr. Kipling lemon slices and feel better now ;)

We have now had about 4 inches of snow.

And I am on my second glass of mulled wine. And a box of chocolates!

Well I made yet another huge pan of soup this morning - lentil and loads of veg - which helped.
Tonight we have youngest and I defrosted the second half of the chocolate brioche loaf, which he and Bb have just devoured slices of, buttered :)

I was saying earlier to Bb, I wonder what the figures will look like for both suicide and emigration :?

Half a cherry bakewell? So what did you do with the cherry, did you eat it all, or just half? You can't just eat half a cherry bakewell, it's got to be illegal.........

We were almost out of Guinea Pig food so popped up to Pets At Home in case we can't get there tomorrow, then ran into Sainsburys to get chocolate chips - I'm not leaving the house tomorrow so I'm going to be baking cookies, cookies and even more cookies. Cookies of all kinds. Just got to hope I can get to the gym on Monday
