I used to work on helicopters carrying those buckets of water.

Some of them can hold about 10 tonnes of water and they do not 'bomb' the fire, that would be like pouring water on a chip pan fire, they lay a water break just next to where the fire is going.

And they do not lay a single line, they do a broken - - - - - one so that if the fire breaks through the people on the ground can use fewer resources to put them out.

We were able to watch then, and the planes, when we had that fire near us. Amazing what they do, flying blind in most cases :shock: into thick smoke.

One crashed a couple of weeks ago :cry:
