Well and truly Jo - and thank you everyone for your lovely good wishes 8-)

We left for the caravan at 8.15 yesterday morning, to bright skies and warmth....stopped off at Warkworth for some breakfast (about an hours' drive, and only ten minutes from the van) and then after a little while, I was reading the paper, and in walked Ruby (Jen's mini dachshund) followed by Jen!

I had no knowledge at all that she was coming!! Though I did think it a little odd that she hadn't asked in advance if we were going for a meal or anything, as is the norm....now I know why! It was the BEST surprise!!! 8-)

She'd made a cherry and vanilla custard tart, and obvs we were ALL booked in to our fav restaurant in Alnmouth in the evening......great great fun!! 8-)

Today we have all walked from the caravan to Alnmouth along the beach, a couple of miles each way, and had a scone and a latte there before returning so we are now home after a LOVELY couple of days! Just fab! 8-)

Alnmouth eh. It was our favourite stop off point going to and from Scotland.

When you come off the A1 there's a little back road out by the common that takes you to the north shore, by the golf club, and there we would sit and have a flask of coffee and sarnies while the kids and the dogs ran round like berserkers. :lol:
