Unfortunately my Irish heritage is too far back - although there's tons of it, on both sides of the family - otherwise I would be sorely tempted! I have far more Irish DNA than English, but that doesn't wash :cute:

Crommers, medsec, it's an absolute disgrace! Medsec I actually worked in pensions for the DHSS for a couple of years, and that was definitely the advice then  :x xx

I think this is a disgraceful move by the BBC.

I resent paying the licence fee anyway, maybe they could claw back some money by cutting the salaries paid to presenters and not send around 300 people to cover events such as the World Cup.

Just a little reminder of how much is being paid to BBC presenters out of our licence fee. My blood is boiling. These were the top ten highest paid in 2017/18.

Gary Lineker - £1,750,000-£1,759,999.
Chris Evans - £1,660,000-£1,669,999.
Graham Norton - £600,000-£609,999.
Steve Wright - £550,000-£559,999.
Huw Edwards - £520,000-£529,999.
Jeremy Vine - £440,000-£449,999.
Nicky Campbell - £410,000-£419,999.
Alan Shearer - £410,000-£419,999.
Nick Grimshaw - £400,000-£409,999.
John Humphries - £400,000-£409,999.

I agree that the salaries are obscene - more that three times that of the PM for reading the news or playing a few records - but that is down to us to complain... and to do it long and hard, and keep doing it.

But as far as the licence is concerned the shift was made from 'government' to the BBC by the Tories. It is a bit unfair to blame the BBC for the change.
