And we had lunch today, three chicken, chips, salad, bread, water, 2 beers, 3 coffees.

24 euros.

Don't mention Windsor.

We had a tea, a coffee, two hot chocs and four cupcakes and it was £22.50.

However the cupcakes were as dry as sandpaper so I complained and got my money back.

I swear the cashier had a mask and cape on.

B****y hell Debih
Mind you, we've been to hotels (parties, wedding receptions, etc) where it's been similar.
You need prior warning, then you can have miniatures about your person so you can just order coke, or - ahem - even a whole bag from a wine box in your handbag ;)

I paid £15 for a bottle of wine in the pub the other week - how does that compare with other parts of the country? I know I'd pay much, much more in London.

I did pay around £7 for two plastic cups of water at Shepherds Bush Empire last Summer but really, I expect to have to pay over the odds in London.

To get a bottle of semi OK quaffable wine you're looking at £17 or so.... anything less and it's either battery acid or happy hour  .

On average I always budget £20 for a bottle when going out.

A litre of very quaffable house red, in any of our local restaurants no more than 5.50. Euros.

And in Castro Verde, we were knocking back stuff for 3 euros - in a restaurant.
