Went for more tests in Cardiology yesterday, Orrible experience!!! A needle shoved into my vein I then had to sit in the waiting room for 15 minutes with my arm stretched out as the drugs used for the major infusions had not turned up from B'Ham.. The young woman who followed me collapsed and had to be revived during the preparation and treatment, her blood pressure had dropped to zero, the blood pressure monitors were not working correctly and it took five attempts to get readings on the same arm as the needle and infusion was placed, it got blocked so panic stations and a flush out... Agonising.. they could not put the monitor on the other arm due to that being the side where I had breast surgery, .. Then off to eat something fatty!!! in preparation for the heart xrays.. The first attempt was unsuccessful so I had to wait for a second session.. Lovely girls who recognised me from previous visits.
What a day.. long drive home to find my guest had gone on a bus ride, I felt terrible as I had neglected him during his four day stay, he returns to Germany today..we went to the pub for dinner, home exhausted to fall into bed.. £7.00 parking fee grrrr. Could not believe that nurses and doctors also have to pay for parking
