Here We Go Again

Postby kathy22 » 16 Mar 2013, 20:59

Well after the fiasco of the kitchen worktops which meant having the back kitchen wall re plastered and new radiators fitted our next job is to replace the floorboards in the bedrooms, landing and store room. Looking forward to it NOT. At the moment my room has laminate on the floor and am undecided whether to have it laminated again or whether to leave it as floorboards and have it stained and polished or not. Oooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhh these big decisions.

You're a glutton for punishment, aren't you?

I like to see wooden floors if they are nicely smoothed and varnished, and
with some nice rugs to walk on.

Now's the time for some deep thought.

As Aggers said, if the boards are already there, sanding and varnishing is a good idea. They'll look and feel lovely 8-) :D

That sounds like quite a job!

We had varnished floor boards in our hall at our old house and they were lovely, and very practical when the boys were very young and I was wheeling prams and buggies in and out
