Nothings ever simple is it.

We have had the worktops fitted this morning. Or rather, we have had the worktop fitted this morning.

As Mick and John went to cut the hole for the sink in the second worktop they realised that it was too close to the cut for the end of it. So Mick is now having to move all the units (including the sink) down about 2 inches - thankfully we had that extra two inches to play with.

He is having to replumb the sink and dishwasher in.

The whole of the downstairs is complete chaos. Because it was raining this morning they have had to cut the worktops in the kitchen - everywhere is completely covered in dust.

Now he has just cut one of the pipes too short and can't find anything to join them with. He is over at the neighbours seeing if he has anything - if not its a 20 mile round trip for me to B&Q to get it. It has to be done today as they need to fit the other worktop tomorrow before John goes away.

I can't get in to cook dinner, I can't use the dishwasher (not plumbed in now) and I have no sink again.

AAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

At least I have Monday and Tuesday to attempt to clean up.

Well, everything is where it should be now - ready for John and to come and cut out the hole for the sink in the morning.

Mick, bless him, was so stressed. He has moved those cupboards backwards and forwards so many times.

We are going to have to have some sort of tiles on the wall behind the worktops. We had intended to have nothing as neither of us are really all that keen on tiles but there is a gap in places between the work top and the wall. Stupid old houses - nothing is ever straight!

The dust is everywhere.   Cleaning for me on Monday then before I can start putting things away. I have bought some stuff home from my mums shed which can go away on Monday afternoon and then I will be playing hunt the kitchen items around the house. They have been put away in various places for so long I don't remember where they are. But it will also be an ideal time for having a clear out - I have an awful lot of stuff that I have neither used nor needed since it all got put away back in June last year!

He has gone out for a pint now. We were going to have a takeaway but neither of us fancies one. So we will be having fresh bread (he will buy some from the pub - they sell lovely home made artisan bread), soup and cheese. The girls have had pasta.

James is still residing in the inlaws garage.

We are going there for dinner tomorrow (I rang up this afternoon when I arrived home and saw the devastation and invited us all for dinner) so I can go and stroke him a few times. :D :D :D
