Rain

Postby Weka » 16 Mar 2013, 09:05

We had a bit of drizzle today, bu not enough to have any real effect. It's getting really dry here, and so brown.
Tomorrow we are suppose to have a tropical storm, here's hoping.

Please send some rain, even a little bit would be nice. We planted out 7 garden beds, just on a thousand dollars of plants, expecting spring rains, well, it's now autum, and still nothing. We've had to water them twice a week since then and even then we have lost 5, which isn't too bad, all things considered.

Wow! That compare and contrast image from the satellite is frightening. Here's hoping that the cyclone gives a bit of respite.

I know it's not a joking matter but I would swap you our water logged, pond-inducing garden in a heartbeat for some of your dry weather :(

Stay safe Weka xx

Gal, I'd gladly swap, especially if you have some of that snow still around. :D Mad I am. :D

Well it rained all day, so at lunch I decided to go out in the rain and quickly plant some spinach I had in a pot. Well, the rain had barely penetrated an inch. The weather is lifting now. Next chance of rain is about Easter. Right when we go away to raglan.

Certainly not the soaking we were promised.

Wm, yes, those two pics taken a year apart certainly do tell a tale of woe. Come on rain, we will be a dust bowl in a month if it doesn't come.

I hope you get some rain soon Weka. The weather seems to have gone mad all over the world!
