To me, it matters not the colour of the skin of the human being on TV, or advertisements and the like. However, I agree totally with this:

"Exclude themselves" is the pertinent point. Multiculturalism has its place and adds to the vibrancy of a nation, but it has a lot to answer for the way it's been embraced to change the culture of Britain and to make some Brits feel excluded.

Being selective is also important ooj, and governments are not selective... Would I be welcomed with my half a dozen children because my father and mother are now legal residents, when a Muslim marries a bride of his parents choice even though they have never met, the family follows, and so it goes on... I agree that multiculturismn benefits our society, but not at the expense of the English populations who are being squashed into insignificance, and if old put on Pathway to make room for more immigrants who are still flocking into this country.

It is certainly true that there is a subtle message being sent out by adverts and TV programmes, though what the message is is unclear. Is it telling the ethnic minorities that they are included, or is it telling the rest of us that we now live in a multicultural UK and to put up and shut up?

I think the adverts especially are promoting an ideal world, where people of every race mingle regularly, happily and easily.
This is the way it is, sort of thing - isn't it just great, kids!
But life in the UK isn't like that, at least not where I live.
The country is multicultural, has always been multicultural and always will be multicultural, the adverts say.
And by the way, if you disagree with any of this then you are obviously a dangerous something-ist who needs to be punished.

I think it can be, if people make the effort to join and mix in. My BIL is black - well mixed race as his mother was white but he is very dark like his dad was. Sonny (BIL's dad) worked hard and integrated, his children did well at school and are now all very successful people. My sister and BIL are hard workers, their children have studied hard and gone to uni, my niece is carving out a successful career with the BBC and my nephew is studying politics and wants to go into politics - god help him............

It can work but only if people are prepared to mix in and work hard Also they lived in London and the SE, affluent areas with work for all, not in self-imposed ghettos in gritty northern cities, squeezing out the indigenous population.................

Imposing Sharia Law and the behavioural codes of foreign religions should not be entertained even for a moment. If people want to come here then they should work hard (and only be allowed in if there is work waiting for them) and accept our laws and way of life - end of

How true Kaz, we have thousands here who have no intention of integrating, those who cannot speak our language who have spent the last twenty or more years here, hence the added cost of interpreters, there are all those official forms "do you need an interpreter.. I love the Indian restaurants, the corner shops, the owners who are welcoming and helpful.
I don't like the gangs black or white that one sees hanging on street corners.

And an interpreter is booked, then the individual does not attend for their appointment! The wasted money coming from the taxpayer's pocket . . .

That is right, and the same applies in the NHS so I have been informed. What a situation!
people as you say being paid handsomely no doubt to sit and interpret what the doctor and nurses say.. Time and cost phenominal and quite frankly disgraceful, particularly in the cases of those not turning up.
