It's such a long time since I've made crumble

What's your favourite recipe?

Old style 3:2:1.5 of plain flour, sugar and butter with possibly a pinch of cinnamon and/or nutmeg/mixed spice depending on the fruit.

Sooo, 150gm flour - 100gm sugar - 75gm salted butter or multiples depending on size.

Cook at 180ºC for 30-35 mins.

Same as Frank's recipe except I add some porridge oats into the crumble mix.

I do half fat to flour, or a mix of flour and oats. Crumble them together, or you can use a food processor. I do mine by hand, less faff I find ;) Then I add the sugar, or sugar substitute ;)

Don't worry about scales, I never use them for crumble, I go on the look and feel of the crumb. It always works out ok

I have never tried the oats thing, it sounds like a good tip.

The ex used to make plum jam, next door had a Victoria tree, and used to put in some mixed spice and some lemon zest to give it a lift.

Oats also lower the GI index, and make it healthier ;) :D

Sod that, does it taste good?

ETA: Healthy crumble? It has to be paired with double cream / ice cream / custard or it is not edible! ;)
