Just a point here.

I can't see it in the user list (perhaps hidden), but if it's presenting itself in the Registered Users class, it has the rights to spider our pictures for public viewing of any images it caches.

Do we really want that??

Hi
Bots such as crawlers are recognised as such with phpBB3, they are recognised by their ip address

they have no more access than any other non authenticated user. by default they have no specific role assigned

in phpbb2 they were unrecognised however from a spider perspective there is no difference. There are no more specific security implications than there were on the previous reincarnation

Yeah we see these bots all the time on our ballroom forum - they always show as being registered members, which of course they are not :roll:

I'd say it's a bug then reporting it as a registered user. So long as we're aware it's not an issue.
