Putting it in the fridge would make it go stale quicker Ossie ;)
We buy the nice ready sliced, sourdough and Italian rustic breads, from w/rose. Have some on day of buying, then jiggle the slices a bit so you can separate them, and straight in the freezer :)

It makes fab (and less fattening) garlic bread.
Line tray with foil, two slices of sourdough on it. Drizzle with olive oil then oven or grill to lightly toast.
Cut a clove of garlic in half lengthwise, rub cut side all over bread.
Save foil and use again - and again :)
