The girls are off on holiday during Easter

Postby debih » 11 Mar 2013, 16:12

I love my little sister. :D :D :D

I emailed her at the weekend to see if she could have the girls at all over the Easter holidays. I am working right through (I had the Feb half term off and will have the May one off too). They usually go to my mums every day but its getting a bit much for her now. Fortunately the leisure centre is in walking distance to her and the girls can go there on their own but I still don't want them there every day of the holidays.

I am off on the Monday of the first week (Easter Monday) and they are going to my mums on the Tuesday and the Wednesday and then my mum in laws on the Thursday (I have to work that Thursday - sods law). My inlaws go off on their Hawaiian cruise the following week so I was struggling a little. I am working on the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and have adoption panel on the Thursday - although I could give apologies to the panel if need be.

So I emailed my sis to see if she could have them at all but they go away from 6th to 9th April. She rang me earlier to say that Roy, her partner, had wondered if S and L would like to go with them if they can get a family room.

There is just the two of them and their dog (they chose not to have children - although they absolutely dote on our two) and their holidays are usually spent walking and sitting in the pub. The girls are now of an age that they are happy to sit in the pub as long as they are entertained - either with cards, dominoes, books, games or internet access via their ipods. They are also of an age where they can be left alone in their room at night whilst Di and Roy go down to the bar, providing they have mobile phone signals so can ring them if needed.

Di has just rung back to say that the B&B can do a family room and that as they are only charging an extra £30 they don't want us to pay anything for them to go. We just need to give them spending money.

They are staying here

I am rather envious - it looks wonderful. The girls love to walk, especially if there are beaches, ice creams and chips involved. And spending most of the day walking will make them sleep at night. And there is internet access at the B&B so they will be able to use their ipods.

I can see it being a bit of a squash in the room - one double bed, one single bed, one put up bed and one dog! Plus all the paraphanalia that L is bound to take along with her.

I haven't asked them yet but am sure they will be very keen to go (do they have a choice - my sister has booked the room now!!!). Whenever they stay over at my sisters their favourite part is getting up early to go to the newsagents with Uncle Roy and the dog - as it means that they get chocolate for breakfast!!!

They always come back from weekends with my sister filthy, exhausted, unwashed and unbrushed but having had the most amazing time.

Oh - and not to mention the peace and quiet around the house. All I need now is for Mick to be working away................ I might even put the dog in kennels. :D :D :D

that looks absolutely amazing.... what views!

It's great that your sister, her OH and the girls get on so well; I get on really well with my older nieces and hope to have the same relationship with A when she is that bit older - she's only 6.

Enjoy the break Debih :)
