Normal service has resumed here after two lovely sunny starts - it's damp and foggy again.
Off out with Billy (and my torch) in a minute and then John's off for a bike ride and I'll wait for a parcel for Tom. He's ordered a new phone which has to be delivered to here so we'll take it over to Wolverhampton to him once it's arrived.
Jo, it's rather grey and damp in London this morning but for the first time in quite some time no cold wind and what a difference it makes. But have to ask - is it just me or do the mornings seem really dark for longer at the moment. The shortest day of the year has gone and it should be getting lighter, but I feel it's going the complete opposite! I cannot wait for the longer days to come back; don't like this leaving in the dark and coming home in the dark and then you see the state of your garden over the weekend and you just want to cry.
Ally, enjoy your day doing all the bits and bobs - you've got a good mix of things
A usual work day for me and then home via Tesco.... the handle of my water filter snapped off on Sunday so I need to replace it. Cost is much of a muchness really wherever you go (it's the filters that are so stupid expensive) so may as well get some points for my money.
Jo, it's the same here - damp and gloomy! Hope Tom's parcel comes.
Ria I've noticed it is lighter for slightly longer in the afternoons, but not the mornings yet! A couple more weeks and it will really kick in
Well we are waiting for another BG engineer to come and give us a quote on a new boiler The system is still working, thanks to the guy who came out on Sunday, but there is a leak in the back of the boiler. Mick spotted it yesterday. Ho hum Up to D's later, for our usual Tuesday lunch
Morning Dull here too but like you Ria, that vicious wind has gone. I'm fed up with needing a light on nearly all the time.
Well, are we chuffed with us! Our cruise has to be paid for by the end of the month; my premium bonds are paying half. By saving like mad, donating our Christmas money, etc, we have managed to get the other half - no dip into savings, no credit cards Off to the bank this morning to pay it all in
Morning all. Ally may usually have to take a bus trip to see a cloud, but not here! It's completely overcast. One of those days when it never seems to get light. Still it could be worse. Yesterday we had ice on the inside of the car windscreen as well as outside. I know a lady who lives in Florida and last week it was -2c there - she didn't leave the house all week! I don't think they are used to that sort of weather in the sunshine state.
Daughter has been let down for dog sitting so we are going up there, then shopping, then who knows what.
Have a good day all.

Ria, I came home with Billy this morning and my first words to John were "8 o'clock and it's still dark!" The afternoons are definitely a bit lighter later though.
Kaz, what a shame about the boiler
Di, it's lovely to pay that way isn't it?! We had to pay the balance on our holiday by the end of December and did the same.
Cromwell, I believe that there was snow in Northern Florida last week?

Morning all, it's very damp and dreary here too. I was up and out a bit early as Michael has a tummy bug and Miss Osc had asked me to walk Kellie to school. I brought his duvet home to wash it but I see the washing machine skipped the wash programme so it must be too heavy. Hopefully it doesn't damage the machine, just a few minutes left. Mr Osc is going to play golf, he can have my share of it on this miserable day. I have no particular plan, need to have my shower and will see then.
