Jack Taylor

Whilst we're on the subject of gritty noir detective dramas, has anyone else watched these, on Channel 5 Friday nights? - it's the last of the first three this week. Stars Iain Glen (Downton Abbey, Game of Thrones), set and filmed in Galway, and taken from the books by Ken Bruen. Two more episodes are in the pipeline.

It was a little bit too much stereotypical again for me with the broken marriage, ex-cop, drinking too much but the change of location in Galway was good and Iain Glenn is so watchable I forgave all that and will stay with it. I must look up the books and see if they are my sort of read.

Iain Glen is back next week in 'Prisoner's Wives' as well.
