OMG poor Hamish! Your poor mum though Ally, I would probably have done the same   ;)

That is a shame about the programmes :(

I admire your dedication Os (as well as the reports). A pity about the programmes. Like Ally, all mine (Leeds United from the 70's) got chucked out as rubbish.

Onwards and upwards! Your pub lunch sounds very nice and good value. When you mentioned Gillingham I was thrown - I thought it was the one in Kent!

Hamish - :|

And quite rightly, too!

Gillingham, Daarzet, Crommers - distinguished from t'other one by a hard "G"!

It was interesting viewing Fleet as a shopping centre - it's only a small town, overshadowed by Aldershot and Woking, but by gum was it busy! Free parking on Saturdays in December for shoppers, an outside fruit 'n veg market, a large shopping mall (the Hart) which was packed out, plenty of independent retailers along with the usual major chain-stores like Next and WH Smith's - everything you'd hope your local town would be, but sadly these days rarely is ....

Ally, at least she didn't do what my Grandad did with my goldfish when it died when he was looking after it while we were on holiday.
He replaced it with another but whereas Sam the First was small and very, very golden, Sam the Second was silver. And huge.
He'd apparently faded in the sun and been very greedy while we were away

The embarrassing thing is that I only twigged what had really happened quite recently

Joe's claimed all of my old programmes, there are boxes of them along with many, many old United We Stand and Red Issue fanzines too.

Jo our budgie Billy changed plumage several times! It wasn't until many years later that I found out that he'd fallen off his perch several times and been replaced! :?

Kaz, they'd never have got away with anything like that with my budgie - he had quite an extensive vocabulary and never stopped talking (especially reciting his name and address over and over and over and over....)
