Could I just have some small vibes.....

I feel a bit silly when Minnie is so poorly, but could I just have a smattering for my lovely Marigold chicken.

She has enteritis. More than likely picked up from eating dead mice and birds, which she does love to do. I am just surprised it hasn't happened before

She has had an antibiotic injection and I have two more to give Thurs and Saturday.

When we got home I made her some supper, natural yoghurt, porridge oats, grapes and apple sauce, which she tucked into. I got her bed and run ready in the separate run and when I got back I couldn't find her. She was in the utility room eating the cats food, much to their disgust.

The vet said she didn't look proper poorly, just poorly, so hopefully she will be ok.

I know she is only a chicken, but she is a truly bonkers chicken with so much character.

She is beautiful, when the sun shines on her, her feathers have a green and purple sheen. She is like a little dog, except you can't have her out when you eat as she jumps on the garden table and steals your dinner. She loves Luke as he is such an easy target. Many the time she has disappeared up the garden with a beak full of toasted cheese sandwich, toodle looing as she goes.

Oh and the tortoise is a great source of endless entertainment to her. a) because she can steal his food and b) because she gets great delight in bopping him on the head and watching him shoot back in his shell

oh wow, she is a beautiful chicken - I'd love to have a few of them; you are very lucky. at the cats not being impressed about her eating their food - she sounds such a character.

She is a beautiful chicken MM. She reminds me very much of our beloved Fluffy.

She does sound as though she is still quite chirpy - naughty girl, stealing the cat food. Antibiotics are wonderful things and I bet she will rally round in no time at all and will be chomping away on toasted cheese sandwiches before you know it.

Oh - and there's no such thing as "only a chicken".

A pet is a pet and is always beloved, not matter whether it be a dog, a cat, a horse, a chicken or a worm.

If it is your pet, you love it and it is important.
