We saw the vet yesterday, she's still concerned about Minnie's breathing and this 'doughy' stomach as she puts it.
The breathing has got worse since she first mentioned it, I guess it was more apparent to her as she examines her properly; also the steroid makes them pant a lot so we'd put it down to that.
She's really pleased with the blood results, which is another reason why she's concerned, she would have expected more overall improvement. But because of the blood counts, we've been able to reduce the steroids again, so she's now on half a 25mg tablet every other day, which is a quarter the dose she started on.
This is the first day she hasn't had any for almost 5 weeks. Really hope it helps with the appetite today as she can't eat after 9 tonight in case she needs sedation. They're planning on doing chest and stomach area x-rays, and probably an ultrasound scan.
I've gone a bit quiet (on the boards in general) because I'm so worried about it now. It would be so awful if having got her through such a dreadful episode, there's something worse been lying in wait (or indeed caused by the treatment).
Lots of vibes I think might be needed for tomorrow, I know you've all been through this with us.
