Absolutely and somehow when they are old and it is their time, it is easier. You don't have that awful feeling of being robbed that you have when you lose a younger pet

I'm also glad you're OK Shaz; I do think it is just that bit easier when they are older and they have had a full life and you know you've given them the best they could have.

I found your comment about Tufty being top cat really interesting. 7 years ago when I had to let go of Molly's sister; Molly also became very clingy and vocal which I thought meant she was lonely so a few months later I adopted Jamie and Abbie. But now, with hindsight I realise that she actually was enjoying having me to herself and she probably would have been quite happy as a single cat. Thankfully she was OK with the newbies but I do sometimes wonder what she'd be like now if she was on her own?
