Spinach flan

Postby JanB » 27 Jul 2017, 12:11

Our local pingo do this and it looks very good, but flamin' expensive.

I've tried to find some recipes, but they're all American  :cute: :cute:

I'm guessing the timing will be same/similar to a normal flan and also temperature too. Also a bag of spinach, 2/3 eggs, fried onion and creme fraiche, all mixed together.

Any thoughts?

My first thought was spinach quiche... then I found this. Flan, quiche, tarte - who cares?

Jan, it is basically the ingredients you mentioned 'cept it uses frozen spinach ( :o Why?) and is cheap as chips.

Go for it. 8-)

Cook the spinach first or it will be watery x

Or as Blanche would say: "Blanch the spinach and dry on sheets of kitchen roll before adding to the mix."

That's the spinach, not the kitchen roll - though they both taste the same. ;)
