When we first moved in I'm sure I emptied mine after vacuuming each room, now I get about 3/4 of the floor up/down stairs done, so about 3 empties get round the house. I do wish it had a larger bin. They are just so fantastic! I can't believe how much dirt/sand/fluff they get up.

We feel ashamed to empty our Dyson. Having a dog - and new-ish carpets
mean we have to empty it twice for the living room.

Incidentally, we were advised when we bought a long-pile rug to switch off
the 'beating' action when using a vacuum cleaner on it.
