Appointment for Minnie

For those non-humans who share our home

I really do feel for you Di. It is so, so hard watching them go through this. It makes you feel so helpless - you just want to wrap them up and make them better.

I do hope that she improves over the next couple of days and that maybe the changes in diet have been causing it.

And no, you don't sound heartless - making that decision is the hardest thing of all but if it comes to it, you know that you will be making it out of love and loyalty for Minnie. You know that you are doing absolutely everything possible for her and that counts for so much. But here's hoping that it is a blip and that she will get over it. Keep fighting little Minnie.

Thanks Debih. It all got to me last night, it's been an exhausting few days.
This morning I feel a lot better, so thank you all for listening.

I 100% agree with everyone - it doesn't make you sound heartless at all. As pet owners we have a duty to them, and that includes that final decision; it's not fair on any pet to let it suffer because we humans aren't ready to say good-bye

I really really really hope that things obviously won't get to that point for you and Minnie and I hope and pray that this is just a temporary glitch and that she'll continue with her slow but steady recovery.

And in the meantime have a ((((hug))))

Thanks meriad. Just updated a new post, but that doesn't change what may or may not be on the x-rays next week.

Oh (((((((((((((((Di)))))))))))))))) I have only just seen this, I'm so sorry not to have spotted it earlier  :(

Of course you are not hard, you love Minnie so much, that is obvious from your posts - and if that decision ever had to be made, you would be doing whatever was best for her!!! xxxxxxxxxx

Much love from all of us here xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Now I'm going to have fun (think I'll wait ill Pointless finishes!), Bb's not likely to be back till about half eight so I have to do the syringe thingy. Also the antibiotics but that's a pill which I can do, the syringe thing is so messy and she hates it!

Di, you don't sound hard at all. I think we all realise that Minnie is your main concern and you're only thinking about her and her quality of life. Hopefully it isn't a decision you'll have to make for a long time((()))-you've probably already told us but my memory can be terrible...what age is Minnie?

She'll be seven on March 10th Shaz. Sadly 6 is a common age for this disease to strike.
Very young, and very fit - her favourite hobby diving off the sea wall into the sea, to swim for her ball - over and over again :)
