Thanks everyone. It's been very strange tonight-I hadnt realised how much of my time had been revolving round Candy ( though she was worth it).

Tuffty, my other cat, is about a year younger than Candy and has always been aloof from the other animals. She rarely came into the lounge and when any of the others dared invade her space she would growl and spit.
Tonight she has been in the living room quite a bit, coming up to be petted and, generally, being nice which is unusual for her!
I've always known she'd prefer to be the only cat in the house and it will be interesting to see if the niceness keeps up( though I have to admit I'd miss her little quirky nature)...Candy was a nice cat with everyone whereas Tuffty seems to like only me and, even then, only when it suits her!

Sorry to read your news Shaz. It is really nice though that you got that time to spoil her rotten.

How are you feeling Shaz? Is Tufty still being friendly?

I'm better than I expected to be MM...I think knowing she had a full, happy life has helped . Also knowing that I let her go when her quality of life had gone helps too. I obviously still miss her and have the odd wee cry too but overall I know I did the right thing.

Tuffty and Kaya(the dog) are both behaving differently. I think Kaya knows her old friend is missing and thats what is making her a bit more clingy. Tuffty is also coming over to be petted a lot more but I dont think that's because she is missing Candy-rather it's just her feeling she is now top cat!! She really is a wee sod of a cat-she'll go up to people for pets then growl and swipe at them and stroll away as if she has won some battle. Everything is on her terms but she is affectionate with me and, now and again, she'll let me think I'm boss and concede a point!
I think she'll really start being more of a cat that likes being petted now but she'll always have her quirky(some say nasty!) little ways.
