Jen, it's such a difficult time for a family, but yours will support you through it all, I know. It does seem harsh to have to clear your mum's room so quickly, although I realise it must be done in CHs. I have to say it took my sister and I more than six weeks before we could face clearing our parent's place. I will be thinking of you (((((((x ))))))))

Sorry Jen, I've only just seen this. My thoughts are with you and your family.
It is quick to have to clear a room, but I understand why, but it doesn't make it any easier. I hope the arrangements are smooth and easy to make for you. Hugs

Thank you all for thinking of me.

The last few days have been difficult and emotional, but having to rush around trying to organise things did in a funny way help, not much time to think. Tuesday clearing Mum's room was the hardest, I thought I was doing really well until some of the carers who were particularly close to Mum came and hugged me...........

The funeral will be on 4th May, what with Easter and the bank holiday it was the earliest date available. I wish we didn't have to wait so long, can't bear the thought of her lying there all that time. I know I'm being silly and completely illogical, but there it is, thank goodness for E, he's so patient and kind.

Jen, you've been in my thoughts and will continue to be so xx

It's a horrible long wait for a funeral. It seems to be around 3 weeks in this area, regardless of whether there's a bank holiday or not, which just seems so cruel to those left behind :(

That's a long time to wait Jen and I totally understand you feeling like you do.

If the funeral is a Swindon crem, then she'll have my mum for company.

Continued hugs on their way xx

((((Jen)))) Our family had a similar wait for my mum, over Christmas. The Bank Holidays made a difference then, and yes it is a horrid wait :( It is generally around a fortnight here, which is still a long time I think :( xxxxx
