Sorry, a bit of a vent, but some people really make me wonder....
Love her dearly but Nadine, my SIL, put a post on FB complaining that because Amazon Prime didn't deliver on time she ended up having to sew a cat costume for her daughter (it's National Book Day today) at 6.30 this morning. Errrm... National Book Day happens every year and you get lots of notice. So why leave the ordering of said costume so late that you risk it not arriving in time. Yes, Amazon should have delivered, but they're not the only ones to blame. And also, why leave it to 6.30 this morning - you were home all day yesterday????
Then at work - a company we work quite closely with had a private screening of some film; we had a list of clients that we invited and were hoping that 4 people from here could go as well. However, the event was overbooked resulting in only 1 colleague able to go. About 2 hours prior to the event one of our clients cancelled, leaving space for a colleague; however the other three had a strop earlier on because they weren't invited so made other plans. One colleague in particular was saying how embarrassing it was that she wasn't there as most of our clients going were actually her contacts etc etc etc.... but she wasn't dressed appropriately (jeans and a jumper!) and therefore now it was too late. Well again; you've known about the event for weeks, so a) you shouldn't wear jeans / jumper to work anyway during the week and b) esp when you know there is a client event happening and you may be asked at short notice to go. But no, she kept blaming anyone and everything else and bemoaning the fact that it was embarrassing for her. Well all of your own making sweetheart..... esp as always happens with these events; people say yes and then just don't turn up.
OK, rant over - thanks for listening. Sigh...
